Color in Wayfinding Design: Coding, Contrast, and the Psychology of Navigation

Wayfinding color operates under different constraints from brand color or UI color. The primary job is functional: guide people through physical or digital environments using color as a signal they can decode under any conditions — poor light, high anxiety, cognitive load, or when glancing while moving.
